The Paper Moon Band - a quintet bursting full of high energy swing came forth onto the scene in 2011.
Lindy hoppers themselves, this band takes its swing seriously - throwing out some of the finest classics from the 1920's - 50's, whilst stealthily punctuating the sound with modern conversions.
MARKET MUSIC
1.30pm ~ 30th June
All manners of exciting, original live music to soundtrack the summer market.
SPIDERBELLY
8pm ~ 30th June
Spiderbelly is Andi Skellam and friends. He makes folk music, is incredible crafty and has long fingers.
"Andi studied fine art at university and his music reflects the darkly humorous and deeply affecting absurdities of his canvasses. Sometimes billed as the Fingerless Hoodlum, Andi in fact possess some of the nimblest guitar and banjo-picking digits currently to be found pretty much anywhere. Debut long-player 'Molton Sea' captured his rich textures and baritone voice to stunning effect, drawing listener comparisons to Syd Barrett and Nick Drake - artists who similarly managed to butterfly-pin the strangeness of English life in music. The soundtrack to resting on a broken tree in mulchy woods."
JULY

ANT NOEL
8pm ~ 7th July
UK musician, Ant Noel, came bursting onto the scene in 2010 with the release of his first Solo album, Hurricane Rising. Originally from the Channel Island of Jersey, Ant’s music ranges in style but remains largely roots-infused, with dashes of Americana, Celtic, Blues and Country.
Ant plays regularly at many UK venues both solo as a piano vocalist and also with his backing band: The Peabody Drakes.

VIOLENTANGO
8pm ~ 7th July
Violentango delivers an energetic Contemporary Instrumental Tango, approached through improvisations combining traditional tango themes with rock influences. The music reflects a detailed search for new sounds and rhythms, successfully breaking the boundaries of classical tango structures; yet retaining the very essence of its passion.
Their live performance portrays a dazzling technical display revealing a compelling union between guitar, bandoneon, electric bass and percussion, exuding a mesmerizing stage presence to delight audiences around the world.
The band’s style extends beyond the limits of traditional tango structures to discover an ambitiously progressive and experimental sound that has derived from a background of cultural authenticity. Their music resembles a fusion of porteño melancholy and tango rhythms combined with the virtuosity of progressive rock characteristic of the 60’s and 70’s. Influences include The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.
Across South America, Violentango’s unique sound is fast becoming the definitive version, set amidst a new tango trend that’s currently in demand for international music festivals.
